Chapter 8 presents parental love as one of the clearest windows into God’s heart. Parents give without keeping score, feel they have not given enough, and instinctively move to protect and provide for their children at great personal cost.
The chapter also insists that true parents are not threatened by their children’s growth. They want their children to surpass them, inherit the tradition, and carry it farther into the future.
It is a deeply anti-transactional chapter. Love rooted in a bond of life becomes unusually stable, sacrificial, and hard to sever, which is why parental love appears as one of creation’s strongest witnesses to eternal love.
