God has not moved civilization’s center randomly. True Father teaches a specific and repeating geographic sequence: Egypt (river/continent) → Greece/Rome (Mediterranean/peninsula) → Britain (island/Atlantic) → America (continent/Atlantic) → Japan (island/Pacific) → Korea (peninsula/Pacific). The pattern is river → peninsula → island → continent → island → peninsula, cycling twice.

Each stage corresponds to a distinct geographic form and providential responsibility. Continental civilizations gather mass and power. Peninsular civilizations synthesize East/West, land/sea. Island civilizations gather resources and spread outward across the ocean. Each form has a particular role in the providential plan.

The Korean peninsula is the final destination because it mirrors the Italian peninsula’s position in the Western providential cycle — but now for the Pacific era. Just as Rome on the Italian peninsula became the integration hub for all of Western civilization and the seat from which Christianity spread globally, the Korean peninsula is destined to become the integration hub for East + West civilizations in the age of restoration.

The reason civilization went West first (rather than staying in Asia) is the consequence of the Fall: Jesus was killed in Asia, and his “body” must be recovered through a restored civilization arriving from the West. The circuit is the long route home.

“The flow of history will not stop there on the North American continent. I am fully aware of God’s plans to have this civilization cross the Pacific Ocean and blossom as a new island civilization in Japan… and then become established here on the Korean peninsula.” (CSG 78-254, 1975.6.7)
