CSG Book 7 says the purpose of the church is to find and establish God’s nation, not to find and establish a church. That line makes the church a gate, mediator, and training ground rather than the finished form of God’s purpose.
This is distinct from simply saying the church will one day pass away. The chapter names what the church is for while it still exists: connecting heaven and earth, joining word and character, and forming people whose family and public life can bear the shape of the Kingdom.
That is a useful pastoral correction. Churches often drift into protecting attendance, reputation, and inherited form. The chapter pushes the opposite direction: if the church forgets that it exists to usher people into a larger reality, it starts mistaking the gate for the homeland.
