Chapter 6 asks what a person can actually bring into the spirit world, and its answer is severe in the best way. Neither money, titles, nor private comfort survive the crossing as meaningful gifts.

What remains is love for God and love for the world. The chapter treats these not as pious sentiments but as the only kind of treasure that still has currency after death.

That gives public love unusual weight. A life that widened beyond the self is not merely morally admirable; it is the only kind of life that arrives carrying something heaven can welcome.
