Theme
The strongest witness is a life that doesn’t need to advertise. People are not argued into faith. They are drawn toward lives that look quietly like home.
Opening (1–2 min)
“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden… let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.” — Matthew 5:14, 16
- Notice what Jesus did not say. He did not say “advertise your light.” He did not say “explain your light.”
- He said let it shine. The verb is almost passive. Stop covering it. Stop hiding it. Stop apologizing for it.
- A lit candle does not have to argue with the dark. It just is.
- This morning, before any of us tries to bring a friend, we are asked first to be a life worth bringing a friend toward.
- We sing now as people whose light is meant to be seen.
Runner-up quote: True Father taught that the most powerful evangelism is becoming the kind of person someone else is drawn to without knowing why.
Songs
- This Little Light of Mine — the simple, foundational claim; great congregational
- Christ Be Magnified — life as amplification, not performance
- Touch Of Heaven — the interior fire that becomes the visible light
- Light Bringer — names the calling explicitly
- Light in the East — wider, prophetic frame; light dawning
- So Will I (100 Billion X) — creation already worships; we join
Runner-up: Open The Eyes Of My Heart — when the room needs the interior before the exterior
Beyond repertoire — worth learning:
- Build My Life (Pat Barrett) — life as foundation; the reverse-engineered logic of witness
- Same God (Elevation) — the testimony song; “I’m not the only one You called by name” lands the witness theme on the listener
Closing Prayer (1–3 min)
- Father, we have been good at hiding our lamp.
- Sometimes from fear. Sometimes from shame. Sometimes from the assumption that no one is watching.
- Someone is always watching. That is not pressure. That is opportunity.
- Make our lives such that the people closest to us — our kids, our coworkers, our neighbors — get quietly curious about the source.
- Don’t make us louder. Make us deeper. The deeper, the more visible.
- Prepare us now to hear the Word — and to receive it not as information but as fuel for a life that shines.
- In True Parents’ name. Aju.
