Theme

Love is not a personality type. The introvert and the extrovert are both called across the room. The voice differs; the obedience does not.

Opening (1–2 min)

“Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.” — Philippians 2:3–4

  • Some of us are good at small talk. Most of us are not. Neither has anything to do with what Jesus is asking.
  • The introvert can cross a room. They cross it differently. They ask one question and listen long.
  • The extrovert can cross a room. They cross it loudly. Either way, the room got crossed.
  • The question is not “am I the welcoming type?” The question is “did I move toward the person God put in front of me?”
  • We sing now as people who are no longer hiding behind temperament.

Runner-up quote: “A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.” — Tao Te Ching, ch. 64

Songs

  • I Send You Out — sending posture, no exemptions
  • Pass It On — small-fire imagery; one person to one person
  • Lean on Me — invitation language; the easier hand to extend first
  • Christ Be Magnified — the why underneath the small obedience
  • Help Me Walk Worthy — admits the weight of the small obedience
  • A Special Place In Your Heart — sets the heart toward the not-yet-known

Runner-up: I Need You To Survive — if the body needs to acknowledge it cannot leave anyone alone in the back row

Beyond repertoire — worth learning:

  • Same God (Elevation) — quiet courage song; calls Moses, Abraham, Mary by name and then turns to the listener
  • Go (Hillsong Young & Free) — direct sending energy; younger feel if room allows it

Closing Prayer (1–3 min)

  • Father, we have used our personalities as exemptions and called them honesty.
  • We are not asking to become someone we are not. We are asking to take one step we have not been taking.
  • Ninety seconds with one person we don’t know yet. That’s all.
  • Make us willing to be slightly uncomfortable in service of someone else’s belonging.
  • Take the lie that says “that’s not my gift” out of our mouths.
  • Prepare our hearts now to hear the Word — and to be people who will move when it sends us.
  • In True Parents’ name. Aju.
